Blair Schleicher Bravo, CEO of Morris Habitat for Humanity, speaks out in this letter of appeal to Morris County Congregations to volunteer and give time, treasure, and talent.

Bravo, a former Councilwoman and twice Mayor of Mountain Lakes, NJ is asking 20 areachurches to form an immediate collaboration with Morris Habitat, over a one year time period, to help with the building of 17 Habitat Homes in Morris County.  Veterans and any Senior Members of these congregations in need of home repairs or upgrades will benefit directly from the program.

Build A Team, Build A Wall, Build A home

Invite letter from Morris Habitat to area churches below:

MOVING FAITH INTO ACTION: A collaborative effort where churches work with Habitat for Humanity to support veterans, seniors and those home owners in need.

Dear Church Leaders of Morris County, NJ:

This next year, begining June 2017 through May 2018, Morris Habitat for Humanity will be building 17 homes, providing home ownership for deserving families. We are able to do this by having 60,000 annual visits to our Restore, and 12,000 volunteer annual visits to our building sites along with support of our events from donors like you.

And now with the launch of our new Healthy Home TV Network (HHN TV) we can air shows on your web portal pages and parish center or school screens, continuing our commitment to helping Seniors in need of home repairs and upgrades.

I graciously ask for your donation and participation as a volunteer. To help immediately, we ask to move your faith into action by signing up to participate in our Hammers for Heroes Eventbefore May 12, 2017. This event will launch our one year endeavor, together, and Move Faith Into Action.

By Pledging to work with us for one year with our "Moving Faith Into Action" Campaign, you will:

  • Air our newly created Church TV Channel  on your web portal pages at no cost.
  • Build a volunteer church team of 12 (apostle carpenters) before May 12, 2017 for our June 3, 2017 Hearts and Hammers Day.
  • Send us your seniors in need, and call to action any and all volunteers.
  • Make announcements about our Free Aging in Place or Home Repair Program.
  • Volunteer your build team at one of our 16 construction sites.
  • Report on HHNTV about how the impact has affected your community at no cost.
  • Offer free subscriptions (up to 500) on HHNTV to your community to learn about happenings.
  • Share your events and news with our community on HHNTV (unlimited submittals)

Please watch the HHN TV Segment below featuring Sophie Pala and her husband Richard’s compelling story of faith and volunteerism.
